Camden Film Quarter opens up a previously inaccessible site and turns it into a new creative neighbourhood. It will provide new homes, green spaces and community facilities, alongside opportunities for jobs, training and creative work. With better walking and cycling routes and more places to spend time, it aims to create a neighbourhood that is more connected, welcoming and useful for everyday life in Kentish Town.
The map to the left shows the buildings that form Camden Film Quarter. These are:
Camden Film Studios: eight new sound stages, workshops, creative work space, a new additional home for the National Film & Television School, a cultural visitor attraction, an orchestral studio, visitor accommodation and cafes restaurants and social spaces
Heathgate Residential: 240 new homes across two buildings, with 120 affordable homes
Inkerman Gardens: 245 new homes, 123 of which are affordable, Community space, flexible café or restaurant spaces and studio and workspace uses
School Building & Pavilion: a new home for the London Screen Academy, a new community cinema and outdoor amphitheatre
The Engine Shed: energy centre and community space
The Station House: 28 new homes, a new recycling centre and community space
The detailed vision for Camden Film Quarter sits with the area in pink on the map to the right, and is within the land controlled by Yoo Capital.
The other buildings in the area in red are owned by different people and companies, who may bring forward their own proposals.
