Public Spaces at Camden Film Quarter
Public spaces at Camden Film Quarter are designed across three levels, creating a connected network of green areas, streets and places to spend time. Together, they support everyday life, making it easier to move around, spend time outdoors and enjoy a greener neighbourhood.
A new street from Kentish Town Road will form a key route into the site, designed to prioritise walking and cycling with wide pavements, dedicated cycle lanes and planting throughout. Alongside this, Regis Road West will become a pedestrian-friendly avenue along the front of the film studios, with seating, greenery and active ground-floor uses that bring activity and life to the street.
Ground Level
At ground level, open green spaces, tree-lined routes and small parks create welcoming places to relax, meet others and move through the area.
At the southern edge, Inkerman Gardens provides a quieter, landscaped space for residents, with lawns, seating and a children’s play area. In the north-west corner, around the Heathgate homes, a new neighbourhood park creates a calm, people-focused space, with strong walking connections and a future bridge link bringing Hampstead Heath within easy reach.
Clear routes and open spaces throughout help connect the site to surrounding streets and open up an area that has previously been closed off.
Play Spaces for All Ages
Play has been designed as an integral part of the public realm, rather than something separate or hidden away.
The development meets London Plan guidance of 10–15 sqm of play space per child, with a range of spaces designed for different age groups, from younger children to teenagers.
Play areas are thoughtfully integrated throughout the site, including within parks, gardens and podium spaces. By combining play features with seating, planting and clear pathways, these areas are designed to be safe, visible and easy to access, while also encouraging social interaction and everyday use
Podium & Roof Levels
Above ground, the podium level introduces a series of elevated green spaces and terraces.
These spaces combine planting, seating and walking routes, creating quieter areas to sit, take a break or meet others. They are designed for a mix of people, including workers, students and visitors, and offer a more relaxed setting away from street level.
The landscaping also helps provide shade, improve biodiversity and create a more comfortable environment throughout the year.
